You know when that cold is about to strike; your throat begins to get itch, your nose begins to drip and that little annoying scratchy cough comes out of no-where and all of a sudden you catch a cold or get flu & next thing you are off to the doctor for Anti-Biotics.

Now I am a firm believer that one should not use anti-biotics as it is not beneficial to your immune system in the long run & sooner or later they will stop working.

Here are some natural remedies for Colds & Flu

1. Build Up Your Immune System

East Plenty of Fresh Fruits & Vegetables – I know many of you are worried about the amount of sugar in fruit, however I believe that natural sugars are very good for you. Increase your intake of Vitamin C by eating more oranges.

2. Gargle with Salt Water

When you feel that itchy throat coming along, gargle with warm water and salt – this is a natural disinfectant & really works wonders for your throat

3. Eat Garlic

Raw Garlic has very potent Anti-Bacterial & Anti-Viral Properties. It also prevents reoccurring infections, yeast infections and other infections. Finally chop the Garlic  (2 Cloves) allow it to be exposed to the air for a few minutes

4. Drink Warm Water With Lemon

The more you hydrate the faster the flu toxins will pass through your body, if you are dehydrated your body will take longer to heal. Ensure you carry around a big 1-liter bottle with you & drink as much water as you can

5. Avoid Meat & Dairy

Your digestive system works over time to break down meat and this means your body will be spending more time breaking down the meat and less time on healing your body.

6. Sweat it Out

Do not exercise whilst you have a cold, this will only put pressure on your heart. There have been many cases where people have died from exercising with a cold.  Instead go & sit in a steam room or Sauna and sweat it out.  It is important to sit on a towel and have one to wipe the sweat off your body or your skin will reabsorb the toxins soaked up in the wood and on your skin.

7. Rest

It is very important to get adequate rest. Your body is run down and you need to allow your body time to heal it. Take time out, hope into bed &  sleep as much as you can

8. Eat Chicken Soup

This is not just an old wives tale – Chicken contains a natural amino acid called cysteine, cysteine helps move the lungs secretions so they don’t clog up air passages and helps excrete phlegm.

9.  Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

One Tablespoon in a cup of water every 3 hours – this alkalizes the body and kills any yeast that can be feeding the infection.
